Hypnagogic Visions

Lately when I do my lying-down meditation, I've had more flashes of sights and sounds that seem real - meaning, it sounds as if I'm actually hearing something, and looks as if I'm actually seeing something. This is entirely different from the more dream-like state which feels more like what we normally call "dreams."  I'm conscious when they occur and I often think for a second that I have my eyes open, or that I'm hearing someone speak. Today I did several of these kinds of meditations and at one point  I had a momentary vision that I was sitting on the couch in the living room and looking down at what appeared to be a color-coded schedule of some sort in my hands.  This is similar to another such "vision" when I was in the same position, the same room, but it was a black square in my hands.  When this happens, I'm observing things from the first-person view and it is my peripheral vision that allows me to see where I am because I'm lo...

Amazing Synchronicities

After my post yesterday, Jurgen Ziewe wrote a post about his most recent out of body experience where he was shown what we might call an artist community in the afterlife.  One of the things he wrote about was entering a room where people were smoking and drinking, and for whatever reason I found that to be a huge validation of the vision I had of Irene and I when I was doing my intention meditation.  I mean, it made me ecstatically happy and it brings me great joy to think about it.  I don't know why, but it really comforts me to know that Irene can still smoke over there if she wants to.  She thoroughly enjoyed smoking here. I had a very nice chat with a man named Bill (oddly enough) in the Zoom Room - we just ran into each other there because I like to stay logged in to help people with the interface and to bring them up to speed on what groups are like. Turns out he has a neighbor named William and at first he thought I was him before he could see the video. The ...

Tuesday, July 18, 2017 Wow! A Very Encouraging Experience

I had a rather exciting experience this morning.  Last night on YouTube I found some videos on "easy", basic ways to astral project that were different from how I normally meditate - they advocated certain techniques that started with lying down. My old Sant Mat training always said it wasn't a good idea to lie down because you'd probably fall asleep. Anyway, I decided to give the techniques a try; one was all about doing it at the time you normally go to sleep; another was about doing it at a time when you were well rested. Since I saw the videos just before bedtime I tried the bedtime technique out. I prayed my usual protection prayers before doing anything that might involve me leaving my body or experiencing spiritual phenomena. Apparently I fell asleep, because at one point I found myself awake - fully conscious - and I was looking at something happening in front of me. It was like a "shadow show" in light projected in a big circle on the ceiling...
